Oryctes rhinoceros

Kumbang badak or Oryctes rhinoceros is a pest that damage palm plantation. The oryctes eat young bud and can be deadly for a palm plant. To prevent this damage, we use preventive action, we make an Early Warning System (EWS). The EWS contain a Global Telling, controlling, and evaluate. Global telling is to check if there was a pest in the areal or not. The pest in palm plantation are rhino beetle, caterpillar, rat, boar and elephant.
To control the rhino beetle we use an insectisida like Granular on each tree we use dosis 5 g/tree. We also use a Feromon to cacth the Oryctes in to the trap. To cut off oryctes siklus, we do a hand picking, we take a pupa and larva oryctes at palm stalk and a young palm plant. We collect the larva and burn it.
